St. Vincent de Paul Auxiliary

Formed in 1965 by a small group led by Eleanor Fulkerson to assist Sister Martha in helping the people of El Salvador.

In 1970 focus changed to helping the local community with clothing, shoes, etc. for school children and also groceries for holidays.

In 2007Fr Kraker requested bags of groceries for the needy coming to the rectory.

In 2014 offered our grocery bags to Good Samaritan Center.

Our Work:

We distribute food every Monday and at Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter.

Twenty full bags of groceries go to the Good Samaritan Center weekly. Varying amounts go to the community for holidays ( 400 + ) depending on requests that the men's St Vincent de Paul Society received.

Occasional requests come from rectory.

Food comes from parishioner donations on weekends at church, St Vincent grade school, and purchases at food stores. We receive extra amounts from holiday food drives at St Vincent High and Hoban.

Our Group:

Consists of 18 women who meet every other month for planning meetings.

About 5 to 9 meet every Monday to fill food bags. We organize our one main fundraiser and mail to parishioners.

Our Mission:

To assist the St Vincent de Paul Society.

To follow our namesake St Vincent de Paul 's calling to help the poor.

We do this by feeding the hungry of the parish neighborhood.
